Taking the heavy seeds of Black Sabbath and Lynyrd Skynyrd, and cultivating it with an ounce of crusty punk and a favoritism for sense-numbing intoxicants, EYEHATEGOD infected the heavy music scene in the early ‘90s and have since endured their share of highs, lows and the woes of total fallout. However, the new millennium has marked another life in the career of EYEHATEGOD, and early this year a collection of rarities and B-sides in the form of Southern Discomfort sounded the alarm to run for cover. EYEHATEGOD are certainly back, and their new offering, Confederacy Of Ruined Lives, will further the cause of America’s most hated bunch.
Boasting an immense and shattering sound from Balance Productions in Mandeville, Louisiana (ironically the board used for the recording of the new album was the same console used on the classic Kansas cut, “Carry On My Wayward Son”), Confederacy… will put the EHG train back on course, and put the band back on the road (already the band are touring to help set up the release). New tracks such as “99 Miles Of Bad Road” and “Jackass In The Will Of God” will hit home immediately with the EHG fan base, and Confederacy… will put to rest any questions about the status or current state of the band.
