Description
“It’s hard to believe GRAND FROID is a trio, so dense is the sound of their music, which—and here’s the detour back to the beginning of this review—is something like crust with a rather subtle D-beat element. Is that even possible? Yes! And that’s precisely what makes these French musicians a band that commands attention. The songs are dark and somber in minor keys, but played with verve and featuring vocals that, with plenty of reverb, are completely absorbed by the music. A large portion of the songs feel more emo than brutal crust, but perhaps “crusty” in the sense of crusty would be more accurate? WTF do I know, but the result is extremely successful. Incidentally, the proceeds from the digital version of this LP will go to an organization that supports political prisoners in New Caledonia.”

The covers are slightly damaged/bent, hence the lower price for the LP
